Hammermill Library Locations

Archives First Floor.  To obtain access to these materials, contact the Archivist at ext. 2190.
Circulating Software The discs and any accompanying material are kept behind the Circulation Desk.
Circulation Desk Second Floor. Adjacent to the Main Entrance of the Library.
Curriculum Collection Third Floor, northeast corner.  Materials to support the curricula of the Education Dept.
Eimer Secondary Third floor stacks adjacent to the Eimer Curriculum Collection.   These are textbooks and other materials that would be used in secondary schools.
Hammermill Compact Shelving Older issues of our journal collection are stored on the first floor of Hammermill Library, in the compact shelving room. Current and recent issues of journals and magazines are shelved in the Weber Great Room.
Hammermill Newspapers Current and recent editions of newspapers are shelved in the Walker Reading Room.  Older issues are placed on shelves on the East Wall of the first floor.
Hammermill Periodical Oversize Please see a library staff member about any materials designated as "IN STORAGE" in our online catalog.

Hammermill Stacks Library Congress call numbers A - C are located in the open stacks on the first floor.  LC call numbers D - G are in the stacks on the second floor. And LC call numbers H - Z can be found on the third floor.
McNaughton Collection - Walker Room The library leases copies of current best sellers for the enjoyment of the College community.  These are located in the Walker Reading Room.
Microfiche and Microfilm The cabinets are located along the north wall of the second floor.   Microfilm and microfiche readers are nearby.
Music CDs These are kept behind the Circulation Desk.   Students and faculty may check these out or listen to them using the Listening Stations located next to the Music Collection.
Music Collection This collection consists of scores and sheet music as well as a large phonograph record collection. It is located on the main floor of the library.
North East Library Any circulating materials at the North East campus appearing in our online catalog may be requested at the Circulation Desk or by placing an online request.  The materials will be routed to the main campus and checked out to the requestor for the normal loan period.
Online Resources We have begun to selectively add scholarly Internet resources to our online catalog.  These sources include, but are not limited to, E-Books, Online Journals, and websites. You may connect to any of these resources by clicking the hyperlink above the location and status information.
Oversize Book Collection


Third floor, northwest corner reading area.

Record Collection Records are located on the wall shelves of the Music Collection on the second floor.
Reference Area

Second floor, east end of the stacks area.  "REF" will appear above the call number.
Reference Area Oversize These materials are located in a special section in the Reference Area.
Reference Desk The desk is located on the second floor.  Certain often-used reference sources are kept on a shelf behind the desk. New materials to be added to the collection are located near the Reference Desk.
Reference Map Case This large wooden case is located on the north side of the second floor near the Microfiche and Microfilm Cabinets.
Reserve Shelf These course-related materials are located behind the Circulation Desk.  Use the Reserve Materials function of HamLET to find the call number of the item you need.  Take this number to the desk.   These items check out for periods of two hours, two days, or seven days.
Special Collections Special Collections include theses, rare and fragile items, and other materials of local or regional interest. They do not circulate. See a library staff member for access to these materials.

Videos are located behind the Circulation Desk.

Walker Reading Room This quiet reading room is reached by pressing the "3R' button in the gold elevator.  The Walker Room is the location of current and recent newspapers and the McNaughton Collection of current best sellers.
Weber Great Room Press "3R" in the gold elevator and turn left upon exiting the car.  The Weber Great Room houses the current and recent issues of periodicals as well as several computer workstations.
