If a particular item is not owned by Hammermill Library, try EZBorrow first. If not available through EZBorrow, you may submit an interlibrary loan request. Please do not submit requests for the same material through both services simultaneously - they function independently, and it is possible you will receive duplicate copies of the same item.

This may be done by filling out an online request form.  You must provide complete information for a specific item. The library will then try to borrow the item or obtain photocopies from another library on your behalf.

It may take up to two weeks to obtain your item, so plan ahead and put in your requests early.  Some lending libraries charge a fee. You should enter on the form the MAXIMUM amount you are willing to pay to obtain the item.  Renewals may or may not be possible depending on the policies of the lending institution.

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code), governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
