1) Can I have food or drinks in the library?
Food is permitted only in Café Diem. Food is defined as any edible food EXCEPT gum, cough drops or throat lozenges. Beverages are permitted in lidded containers. Aluminum soda cans are not acceptable.
2)Can I use my cell phone?
Use of cellular telephones and other personal communication devices within Hammermill Library is restricted to the main lobby and Café Diem. Personal communication devices should be turned off or set to “silent” mode upon entering the building.
3) What about tobacco products?
No tobacco products OF ANY TYPE may be used in Hammermill Library. This includes smokeless tobacco. "Spit receptacles" must be disposed of outside the building.

- Reference materials DO NOT circulate.
- Course reserve materials circulate for 2 hours, 2 days or 7 days based on the instructor's decision.
- All library-owned materials can be renewed, assuming no other patron has placed a hold on the item.

5) How do I renew my books?
Items can be renewed in person at the circulation desk, over the phone, or via the web using the "Your Account" link.
6) Is library instruction and research assistance available?
Yes! Members of the library staff are available to provide training and instruction to groups or individuals. Topics include course-related instruction in the use of the library and its resources, training in the use of a particular library resource, general library orientation and library tours. For more information, contact the library via
email or phone (ext. 2190). Also, our reference desk is staffed by librarians throughout the school year. Check our
